Cucumber Spino is a new hybrid F1, which is gaining popularity with each season among gardeners. Thanks to the good taste qualities of the fruits, their high yield and resistance to disease, the variety has won a place of honor in the world market and has been included in the National Register of Russia since its appearance.

Cucumber variety description
The Spino cucumber hybrid is bred in Holland and has a number of qualities that set it apart from other cucumber varieties. It features the following
- early maturing, yielding 30-40 days after planting in the field;
- grows in all regions regardless of climatic zone;
- well feel both growing in a greenhouse and in an open field;
- can grow and bear fruit in the shade;
- fruits are dark green, up to 15 cm long, without bitterness.
Spino cucumbers can be eaten fresh and pickled for the winter.
In pickling and marinade they keep their shape perfectly, remain crisp and firm.
Disadvantages and Disadvantages
The following advantages can be noted:
- with 1 sq.
- fruits have a good marketable appearance;
- cucumbers of this sort can be stored for a month, which allows them to be transported over long distances;
- plants are not affected by diseases typical to this kind of crop;
- Perripe fruits do not take barrel-shaped, but remain cylindrical, flat;
- Generative, compact, not prone to sprawl, so it does not require much space to grow.
There were no negative qualities identified during the cultivation of the hybrid.
Requirements for soil
Soil with high acidity is not suitable for Spino cucumbers.
They need either neutral or slightly alkaline environment. Sometimes slightly acidic is allowed, but only if there is no other.
Determine the acidity of the soil at home by using soda and vinegar. Acidic soil will foam when stirred with baking soda, and alkaline soil with vinegar. If there is no reaction, then the environment is neutral.
If the soil is acidic, you can make it deacidified by adding ash, lime, gypsum to the soil. If this is not done, the plants will become stunted and dry out early.
Also the soil must be saturated with nutrients. To do this, mulch it with organic matter or add fertilizer.
Seeding rules, seedling planting
Seeds of Spino cucumbers are put in the ground to a depth of 2-3 cm.
If planting is carried out in the open ground, the soil must be warmed up to at least 12 degrees. If this condition is not met, the seeds will not germinate, but simply rot in the ground.
The seeds are sown in special cassettes, containers or plastic cups. They are filled with soil taken from the surface of the soil and mixed with peat and sand in a ratio of 3:1:1.
Usually sow one seed, but if there is a reserve of seeds, you can sow two in one container.
After sprouting, the stronger plant should be left and the weak one removed.
The seedlings are not recommended to keep in the container for a long time - it should be planted at the formation of 3-4 leaves, not later. Cucumber roots are straight, and if the seedlings are kept in a container for a long time, the root bends, and the quality of the seedlings deteriorates.
Before planting seedlings in the ground it is necessary to harden, otherwise it can burn in the sun. It is allowed to plant 2 plants per 1 sq.
m. With denser plantings, the yield decreases.
Care after planting
Cucumber bush care is in the following activities:
- Regular watering, especially during the fruit-bearing period. Watering should be warm water, preferably in the evening, at the root, preventing waterlogging soil.
- Loosening the soil and removing weeds.
The Spino variety does not grow much, so the bush can be formed on low trellises, up to 1 m high.
How to achieve a generous harvest?
For cucumbers to give a high yield, it is not enough to simply care for the plants, water and feed them. It is important to make sure that the bush does not overload itself. It normally bears fruit when it has no more than 20 ovaries at a time. If there are more, they must be mercilessly plucked so that they do not weaken the plant.
